Hike Ready Color Swatches
Color swatches are a fun and easy prompt to take with you on a walk or hike.
Punch a hole in the corner of each color square.
Use a key ring or clip to fasten them together.
Add them to your adventure supplies.
Paint color samples (from your hardware store)

Some ideas for using your colors:
*Look for colors at the local Conservatory or even the zoo.
*If your child is interested in reading, have them match the color and then practice reading the names - a lot of them are amusing.
*If you sit down to sketch what you are seeing, use the color swatches to help guide your color choice.
*Talk about shades of colors. For example, you found a blue car. "Is it a light blue like this one or a darker blue like this?" "Hmm...let's read the name of that color together"
