Book Review: Grow Flower Grow
After visiting conservatories or gardens, flowers are a natural conversation topic. How do they grow? What are the different kinds? Here is a fun book to kick off a discussion about what makes flowers grow.
GROW FLOWER GROW! is the kind of happy, silly book that screams Springtime to me. Fran, with the help of her dog Fred, decide to grow a flower. After planting it, she offers it every kind of food, from pizza to dog bones, she can think of to help it grow. Nothing works, so the frustrated Fran throws it outside where, of course, with the sunshine and rain it surprises her by growing. Little ones will delight at Fran's goofy ideas. The brightly colored illustrations further emphasize the life bursting forth from Spring and the growth it can bring.
