101 Kids Activities
This book is pretty much the best thing ever to kick off your summer. It arrived in our mailbox this week and its pages are already full of post-its flagging all of the things we want to do this summer. 101 Kids Activities was put together by Holly Homer and Rachel Miller the two creative ladies behind kidsactivitiesblog.com. Their colorful and inventive ideas are flying off the pages in this collection. The book is broken down into four sections; boredom busters, crafts, games, and simple science. Each activity has a materials list and simple description or explanation. One of my favorite features is that each activity also includes modifications for younger kids and older kids. This makes each activity adaptable to suit your child’s age, but also makes it possible for younger and older siblings to do activities together with slight alterations. Easy to follow, clearly written, and full of play ideas for any age, this is a goldmine for any parent, grandparent, or caregiver. Bursting with everything from quiet play ideas and artistic crafts to energetic gross motor games and intriguing explorations, the amazing variety in this book is sure to fill your summer days with fun.
