Make these counting cards for your next Counting Walk or tuck in your diaper bag for the next time you are waiting somewhere.
Write 1-5 on 5 cards
Stick the corresponding number of stickers on each card.
On the backside, tape or glue a photo of a picture of with the corresponding number of people or objects
Laminate with Contact Paper to make them more sturdy.
When your child is interested, practice identifying the number and counting the stickers and people.
Encourage them to count using one extended finger and model counting slowly one by one. It take a while for children to gain an understanding of One-to-One Correspondence, practicing with them with different materials with help them gain mastery.
