Draw a circle train track in a big open space. I used chalk and did this outside. It could also be done on a huge piece of paper with markers.
Around the train track, we drew train sheds. Inside each shed I drew a shape. As I drew the shape, I labeled it out loud. Then we each picked a train.
We each parked out train in a shed. I called out "all aboard!" and then we all started chugging around the track. We "chug chug"ed together and then I called out "find a station!" and everyone drove to a shed. Then we took turns labeling what shape was on our shed. We pretending the trains went to sleep and then they "woke up" and started chugging around the track again.
Chalk or Markers/Paper
-Play "drive to a shape": drive around the railroad track until someone calls out a shape and then everyone drives quickly to that shape. For example: "Circle!" and then everyone drives to a circle.
