We LOVE Milwaukee's Irish Fest. I have gone every year of my life thus far and obviously have enjoyed different aspects over the years. Our itinerary with one year olds included; watching tug-of-war, watching a couple of bands, playing on the playground, mommy and daddy dancing in the dance tent while the kids took a nap in the stroller, and eating. Obviously, my being Irish probably has something to do with my enjoyment, although I don't think it is necessary. However, there are cultural festivals for other groups as well throughout the summer on the same grounds.
Although ticket prices for Irish Fest are a tad expensive, there are admission incentives. Thursday night there is free admission with a donation of school supplies. Friday between 4-5:30p entrance is $5. Sunday is free with a food donation for the Hunger Task Force before 11am and all day for military members and a guest. Kids under 12 are always free.
