Milwaukee is known for a lot of things - beer, the Brewers, even the largest Outdoor Music Festival - but I rarely hear people talk about the city's natural beauty. The places that celebrate this natural beauty however are often our family favorites.
The Schlitz Audubon Center is a perfect example. This is one of those places that one visit convinces me I would spend time here weekly if I lived closer. The Schlitz Audubon is a beautiful places to spend time for anyone of any age.
This is a great spot to start. The workers are helpful and kind. There are maps to help you navigate the many trails.
Best of all, the nature center has interactive things to do with kids. Things to touch and crawl through and pretend with abound.
It's quite a number of stairs, but it is an interesting look at the different levels of trees and a spectacular view at the very top!
Turtles, fish, and more. Get down and look close.
We visited in Fall when it was a little too cool to hop into the water, but this is a beautiful beach.
My kids seem to naturally collect things. They love rocks, sticks, leaves, and more.
