I picked blueberries with our children for the first time when they were 13 months old. It is important to consider whether your child is competent chewing their food before venturing out to pick whole fruit from a bush because a large portion will end up in their mouths! That being said, at 13 months my children definitely got the concept of picking the berries from the bush. With much insistence on my part and self control on their part, they were also able to put some berries in the basket. Most however, as I said, were eaten. They were incredibly content sitting there by the bush pulling berries off while I filled our basket, so all in all it was successful.
There is a bathroom in the store.
